oh, honey don't do anything rash The bottles on the shelves glisten in cute little rows, dressed in vibrant shades of pink and green and red and blue. Glowing posters pop at passing customers: ALL NEW Signature Collection, Buy 3 and get 1 FREE, TRAVEL FAVES! There's a colorful atmosphere in this shop of bath and beauty products that draws her in. But she isn't here for the shower gels or fragrance mists, for the Almond & Vanilla lotions or the Bombshell perfumes or the Waikiki Coconut body creams. She's here for the scented candles. Fire is the most independent of elements, defying all illusions of human control. Many of the most effective spells require the use of controlled flames, especially in the forms of candles. She can count dozens of spells for invocation and banishment, for cleansing and sacrifice and protection. It's no wonder that the candle supply in her house is running low. Being in a place as lively as Harajuku puts her on edge, but she somehow likes this cute little shop. There are few customers in here for now, so she doesn't have to worry about crowds. And, though the color scheme is too bright for her taste, there's a sort of calming atmosphere in her created by eggshell-colored shelves of glossy bottles and tinny pop music streaming from the speakers above. She picks up a tall pillar candle, examining its watery crimson hue. Even from within its glassy case, she can smell faint hints of its apple cider scent. It's nice, she thinks, but she would prefer something with a richer color. In her arms she cradles a small box of multicolored candles, the only purchase she had planned to make here. But maybe she could pick up one extra candle, something nice and long-lasting for her purposes. As she moves to slot the candle back into its proper place, though, her arm accidentally jolts and sweeps off half a row of pink and cream-colored candles. The crash of the colorful cases against the floor seems deafeningly loud, causing her to suck in her breath. The teenage cashier behind the counter sighs at the sound but seems to decide to ignore it, deeming it not worth the trouble. That's good. She doesn't want to attract any attention. She takes a moment to smooth down the plaid skirt of her school uniform, as if the sound of the crash caused it to crinkle. Hoping that none of the few customers here will arrive at the scene, she stoops down and hurriedly collects the fallen candles in her arms, placing her own candle box to the side. A light blush colors her cheeks. Talk about embarrassing. KIMIKO T.

After a grueling day of school, Kimiko was excited to go exploring. Today she had decided to take on Harajuku! She had always be fascinated with the area, so much so that it had become her favorite stage on one of her fighting games. Finally after years of not being able to go, she was fired up to experience it for herself.
To her surprise the streets were filled with a great deal of people, mainly trendy looking teens in their school uniforms. The streets were lined with what seemed like endless shops filled with all of the latest looks from the popular teen magazines. Pastel dresses, holographic purses, jackets with sewn on patches, filled the stores she saw as she peered through the crowds of people. Awed by how popular the area was for an after school meeting place she began to realize that all of the noise and excitement was proving to be a bit much for her. She decided to make her way down a quiet looking side street that seemed to have cute stores that peaked her interest.
A charming little bath and beauty shop caught her eye and she decided to take a look inside. As she entered through the door the sweet scent of various flowers, fruits, and other earthy tones, instantly calmed her. The pastel walls and white display shelves were lined with lotions, bath goods, and candles in every scent she could possibly dreamed up. After picking out a couple of citrus and candy scented bath bombs, she made her way to the candle section. As she reached out to pick up a box of multi colored tea lights, she heard a loud crash from the other side of the shelf.
A bit shaken by the commotion, she looked around to gauge the reactions of the few other witnesses, but they seemed not to noticed, or maybe they just didn't care. Slowly she peeked around the corner, finding a cute girl hurriedly picking up all the fallen candles. Kimiko felt bad that it seemed like everyone ignored the incident. What if she gotten hurt or maybe just needed some help. Refusing to be like the others, she walked over and began to help the girl pick up the candles. As they put the last of them on the shelf, she turned around and introduced herself. "Hi! I'm Kimiko." She said with a smile. "Are you okay? Did you get hurt?" She asked . The girl appeared to look fine but she just wanted to make sure.

oh, honey don't do anything rash As she kneels to gather the candles together, she can't help but think that coming to Harajuku was a mistake. Couldn't she just have made her purchases online? That would save her the hassle of going out to somewhere she doesn't belong. Even here, in this cheerful little shop, her teeth itch with the dissonance. She feels as if she has stepped deep into a realm that isn't meant for her, one of pop music and sequined dresses and all these pretty things she has never tried to enjoy before. Furthermore, she can't help but notice that few come to Harajuku alone; they make plans beforehand, travel in pairs or packs. Even if she had a choice otherwise, she still would have gone by herself. She doesn't like being around people. Yet she can't help but be hyperaware of her absence of companionship, as if there is a friend-sized space by her side, oppressive in its hollowness. Brooding, she reaches out for a french vanilla-scented candle that had rolled a little further away. Just as her fingertips graze it, though, another hand intercepts and picks it up. Startled, she glances sharply up, dull violet eyes as wide as a cornered animal's. There's a girl her age now, helping her. Soundlessly, she returns to collecting the fallen candles into her arms. Every once in awhile, though, she casts a furtive glance towards the stranger before focusing back on the task at hand. Who is this girl? Why is she helping out? Well, obviously because it's the polite thing to do. But it's not such a big deal. She could have shelved the candles herself and been on her way. It's embarrassing, but... Somehow it's a bit nice. Maybe that's the kind of feeling you get when you're in social withdrawal. Without even meaning to, you drink up any kind of contact or camaraderie you get. For some reason she hadn't expected the girl to speak, but speak she does. " Oh. I'm, um-" Her voice warbles a little, and she clears her throat. " Kanon. Um, I'm fine, thanks." It's not as if falling candles could severely injure her anyhow. Unsure of herself, she fixates her attention upon the box of candles the other girl is holding--the exact same box that she's purchasing as well. " Oh, uh, we're getting the same thing," she says in a confused attempt at conversation, cradling her own box in her arms. " Do you... like candles too?" Is that a weird question to ask? It seems like a weird question to ask for some reason, though she wouldn't have known it if she had been on the receiving end of it. She isn't sure if anyone else matches her passion for fire, much less fire magic. KIMIKO T.

[GoogleFont=Roboto][GoogleFont=Imprima] | [attr="class","nana"] Kimiko was a bit taken aback by the question. Did she like candles? She never really thought about before. She guessed she did. But what exactly did she like about candles? Was it the sweet fragrance that it produced, or maybe it was the dripping of the candle wax. No that wasn't it. The more she thought about it she realized it was the fire that she loved the most. Watching the ember dance upon the wick could be mesmerizing at times.
But Kimiko felt that might me too weird of a response to give to a stranger. Honestly it made her sound like she was an arsonist-in-training. Had all the game she played finally affect her perspective on reality? Nah. She just sees the world a bit different than the average person. There was nothing wrong with that. So what should she say? Maybe she should just say she like the smell? It technically wouldn't be a lie, seeing as the yummy macaroon fragrance they gave off made them her favorite.
Wait! All the girl asked was if she liked candles. She never asked for details, so why was she stressing herself out over something she wasn't even asked?
"Yup!" She told the girl with a smile. "I really like the scent of these. What made you pick those too?"
