Sailor Neptune. The acknowledgement felt more like a validation than an awakening. Like she knew all along but her brain couldn’t figure out why she just knew. The voice in the back of her mind started to make more sense. The way ‘she’ always seemed composed and wise in guiding Ayame through her daily routines. She was grateful for the moon cat for the help in rediscovering herself, but it wasn’t her place to be by Sailor Moon’s side. But now that she properly remembered her past life, she didn’t have any time to lose. She needed to find the Outer Senshi and Sentai. Surely they were around too?
Her only logical deduction was to mingle within places that gathered large crowds. Ayame took occupation to one of the outdoor tables of the café. In one hand, she held a dainty teacup raising it to her lips to take a sip. Upon placing it down, she replaced holding the tea cup with a mechanical pencil. Sitting on the table beside the tea cup, which was perched on a cute saucer, was her sketch book.
What was the best way to converse with people? The brunette didn’t have to think too far before an idea came up. She waved to the person passing by. She flashed a smile at the stranger. “Excuse me,” she chirped, “Do you have a couple minutes to spare? I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind being a model for my next sketch? I’m doing a project for my art class.” It was well worth a shot. Worse case scenario? They said no then she could try something else.

it's okay, it's alright . to play the fool has always been my plight ▼ | Another day, another wad of cash earned. Nagisa was really getting good at this. Then again, he'd always figured himself a natural talent with the crowd. Card tricks were by far one of his favorite ones, and also seemed to be a crowd favorite. While they were very simplistic, there were also methods to perform them in a way where it was exquisitely pleasing to the eyes. A bit of a flourish, if you will. Of course, typically one would expect sleight of hand, but then Nagisa always preferred to do things in a way that simply couldn't be described anything more than actual "magic". Thinking it all over and thinking of today's result tickled him enough to chuckle quite happily to himself. Perhaps he'd treat himself to a well-deserved lunch today? Yeah! That sounded like an idea.
Maybe this cafe he was coming upon would be nice? Grab himself a nice sandwich, some juice. Heck, maybe he'd even get a cake to go with it? Oh he was going to eat like a king today! At least, as far as he was concerned. As he moved to make his way towards the cafe entrance, he stopped as a voice called out to him, causing his head to turn and look at a girl who asked a rather peculiar question. Him? Model? That was definitely a new one. And she was doing it for an art class, at that. He looked around to make sure that she wasn't addressing someone else, soon pointing a finger at himself as he made the silly inquiry in response.
"Oh uh... a-are you talking to me, Nee-san?" he asked. Despite asking the obviously dumb question, he slowly made his way to sit down in the chair across the table from her. At the same time, he whined a little bit, wishing that perhaps he could have gone to grab some food before-hand. Oh well. Maybe this would pass by quickly, he thought. "W-well... sure! Why not? Anything to help out a lovely lady like yourself." |

“That I am~” she confirmed his suspicions. She gestured a welcoming hand over to the chair on the opposite side of the table. Her sea green eyes fluttered onto her newly acquired company’s features. He didn’t appear to be that much older than herself. A charming little tongue within his mouth which she poised a smile in return to his sweet words. “Aww~ You’re very sweet. Thank you for your time. I am Ayame Yukimura. It is nice to meet you.”
When the waiter came outside to attend to the customers outside, the server noticed Ayame’s table had another occupant. The brunette waved to him to catch his attention. “Whatever my friend orders is my treat.” She then looked back over to the dual-colored male to give him a rest assured look that she meant what she said. “It’s the least I could do.” Aya waited until Nagisa ordered whatever he pleased. Money was nothing of concern for her more or less starting her own personal search. Any knowledge she could learn about the city’s current events or what kind of enemy the sailor senshi needed to know would be of utmost useful.
“Feel free to pick any pose you want, but once you pick, you’re going to have to stay in that pose. I’ll sketch it as quickly as I can. Tell me~ Do you come around these parts often?” Once that was taken cared of, Ayame quickly got her sketch book into her hands. She extended the length of the lead in her mechanical pencil as lines were beginning to form on the pristine white paper. The first step: getting a good idea of where to go.

it's okay, it's alright . to play the fool has always been my plight ▼ | The brunette had lovely sea-green eyes, a feature he couldn't help but notice right away. Though, he was never one to get lost in a girl's eyes for very long. He never knew why. He just... didn't. She introduced herself as one Ayame Yukimura. "A lovely name for an equally lovely girl! I'm Nagisa Yamigata. Nice to meet'cha, Yukimura-san!" he said with a slight bow of his head, the girl soon having beckoned a waiter over. The dual-colored boy had barely begun sifting through his money before she added that she would be paying for him for his time. The initial reaction was a look of shock, barely having opened his mouth before she passed a reassuring smile his way. That shock turned into jubilation as his eyes nearly sparkled bright as rubies at basically getting a free lunch for the day! "Uwaa~! Sugoi, Yukimura-nee-san! In that case...!"
He took up the menu that had been placed on his side of the table, flipping through the pages, he'd placed an order for three items in particular, one of them being boba tea, and a strawberry shortcake. The waiter gave a slight bow of acknowledgement before making his way into the cafe, leaving the two alone for their sketching session. All that was left now was to consider a proper pose for the drawing. "Hmmm... let's see..." he murmured, clasping his hands together before releasing them, a deck of cards now resting within his palm. He'd shuffle them expertly with his fingers, filing out cards betwixt and between swiftly and efficiently without really even taking the time to look at them. It was something he did whenever he was deep in thought, or even feeling antsy. After what could have been about three or four cycles of shuffling, Nagisa stopped and placed the deck on the table, pulling out a hand of five to reveal...
"Jyaaannn~! Royal Straight Flush!" he announced with a big grin, holding the cards fanned out within his hand so that Ayame could get a good look at them for herself. Sure enough, he held the respective cards required in his grasp - a 10 of Hearts, Jack of Hearts, Queen of Hearts, King of Hearts, and the Ace of Hearts. Whether or not she would be impressed by such a thing however, was a completely different story. "Also, this is the pose I'll be holding, so feel free to start whenever you like." |

The dual-colored lad quirked her interest. A vivacious individual, but Ayame couldn’t help but feel something hidden within his depths. Nagisa Yamigata. Her curiosity had kindled a flame. It would seem she found someone she’d like to get to know. Like the pull of the tides, she was going to trust her instincts as it told her to follow the currents of the waters and pursue knowledge on her new found companion. “It’s no problem at all. It’s my pleasure,” she mused. Honestly, the scene playing out… she couldn’t help but wonder if this is what it was like to have a younger brother. A whimsical notion that any only child would think.
Ayame took account of the items he ordered when the waiter was summoned. The way Nagisa’s face lit up at being able to pick out his heart’s desire. Genuine delight. Like he hasn’t had the opportunity to partake in something as simple as café delights. Aya was almost tempted to ask him if this was something he indulged in often. But she refrained seeing as it was rude to jump into personal affairs too soon.
Her sea green eyes flickered with gleam as he took out a deck of cards beginning to shuffle them. Dexterous hands slide the cards intimately between his fingers that it gave the illusion that he was manipulating them from thin air. It was quite a sight to be honest. So he was a magician. Now that was a topic she could breach quite easily.
She clapped her hands softly giving a soft giggle at the magic trick that took place. She didn’t indulge in those in… well, ever since she was a child. To see someone else in real life do it, not someone on a stage, was quite a sight.
“Sugoi Nagisa-kun!” she beamed. “How did you do that? How long did it take you to practice that trick? What made you want to learn magic?” As she asked this, her hands began to smooth out the sketch into defining lines on the surface of her sketchbook. She wasn’t even being subtle about it but her favorite part was drawing his hair. She gave a small sheepish look realizing she just bombarded him with questions. “Sorry. I don't know many magicians is all.”

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggieno"] [attr="class","textieno"]There it was. The widening smile upon her lips, the gleaming twinkle in her eyes. The way her entire face seemed to glow with joy upon seeing such a simple card trick. This was the grand reward he experienced every time whenever someone genuinely enjoyed his magic shows. Making money off of it was merely a means to an end in the long run, but to derive true happiness and bring it out of others as Ayame was displaying to him right now? That was the true reward he would reap from all his efforts. A slew of questions came bursting forth from the girl, Nagisa having to fight the urge to giggle at her enthusiasm. It certainly wasn't something he'd mind. As a matter of fact, he was more than happy to tell her a few things here and there.[break][break]
"Well... the saying goes that "a magician never reveals his secrets"... but I will tell you that everything I know is self-taught. I had to work long and hard every day before I was able to do such things with ease like I can now." Truth be told, Nagisa had always held an affinity for the performing arts for as long as he could remember. It didn't matter what it was. It could have been song and dance, acting, stage performances. Even street magic was an art in and of itself. He'd always been pretty good at doing all of that. Except, he could never land any work with it, simply because he was a pauper. And thinking about that nearly made the warm smile on his face falter for a moment, if not remember he had to hold his pose. "Ah, but enough about my life!" he said with a chuckle. "Why not tell me a little bit about yourself, Ayame-nee-san? How long have you been doing art? Do you have a favorite medium? You planning on becoming a big shot Galleria artist maybe~?"[break][break]
Notes: Sorry for the long wait. Work had me tied up for a little while >x<;;

Art was a form of expression. It conveyed complexities that couldn’t be explained or understood through logical, scientific or mathematical methods. To create links from one heart to another. The more logical people have documented many times throughout history that the artistically inclined view the world in more than one way. Beauty in every angle where it could not be seen. That is what Ayame hoped she could do with every drawing she put upon the pristine white paper in her sketchbook. She giggled at his enthusiasm.
“I think you could go far with your performance. You do have a natural talent for them. Hold still now~ I’m almost done. You won’t have to stay in that pose for much longer.” She took out another pencil. This one was had a thicker lead point to it before she pressed onto the already sketched out lines. She began darkening the outlines and shading the appropriate sections so that the image had more depth. “It’s always the dream right? Being able to have a job you’re passionate about? That it doesn’t feel like you’re going to work to make ends meet, but because you want to be there and you love what you do.”
Just how she wished she could become a famous artist. But her parents would never approve. They want her to be something more stable like a doctor or scientist. She smiled serenely back at Nagisa. “I’m still thinking about it. I love the idea. I love it a lot. Drawing is fun, but my love is in paintings. Though I also need to take into account if it’ll give me a stable life I need.” There was no sense of betrayal when she spoke fondly of her love for drawing and painting.
Ayame is reminded again. Does she pick happiness and deal with the consequences of it? Or should she pick stability, never having to worry of the risks unfolding? “There’s still time to decide. I’m a second year in high school so I’ll worry about it when the time comes.”
With that, she put down her pencil then twirled around her sketchbook to reveal her completed drawing. A portrait of Nagisa, in his pose, holding the Royal Flush in his hand. The café backdrop sketched lightly behind him. “I hope I did you justice, Nagisa-kun. If you want, once I finish my art project, I'll let you have the sketch as well as the painting version of it.”
