-- Stand tall, never fall ! All the hard work and dedication finally paid off in full—Royal Crown bloomed into the establishment Raiden Balaur wanted it to become. Various eateries littered the building—Japanese and American cuisine of the highest standard served with carbonated drinks to boot. Raiden's goal was to create the ultimate hangout spot for kids, teenagers, young adults, and families alike. It seemed he achieved such a goal with flying colors. From his office on the 3 rd floor, he constantly heard the good times being had from the people and his classmates that enjoyed his labor and the fruits that grew from such hard work—the office always shook like a powerful earthquake struck, but he enjoyed the sensation for what it was. Though, there was a reason Raiden was crowned The King of Games. That was because every arcade machine and ticket machine scattered throughout the establishment, he was always at the top of the leaderboard—the three letters: 'KoG', to represent this. Many attempted to best him, but all always failed. It quickly became tradition for a few of the 'elites' of various games to test their steel against the reigning king. These few individuals were the best of the very best at their craft—their skill and minds leagues ahead of the others. But not a single one of them never managed to best the machine that was Raiden. May it be racing games, fighting games, or dancing games, he was simply the best; the Bees Knees—point, blank, period. Today, when classes were dismissed, he decided to visit his establishment and grace the people with his presence and killer discounts on just about everything to give his thanks for everything they had done for him and Royal Crown. But, before he even walked in, he sent a text message to a person of interest—a person with the enough mettle to best him with a few more years of practice and development. " hey, i'm gonna' be in town today. you should come to royal crown and play with me. we have a lot of catching up to do, wouldn't you agree? if need be i can send someone to come pick you up, just let me know, takeo." Once the message was sent, Raiden moved to the center of the arcade—where the tricked-out DDR Machine resided and made a public announcement. This announcement would be seen and heard by all within the city, Royal Crown was linked directly to a billboard that also acted like a projector. That being said, at various times during the game, the billboard would playback live action footage from the actual happenings within the establishment. This was the best kind of advertisement known to mankind, and the kind of advertisement Raiden had full intentions on abusing whenever he could. " Today, we at Royal Crown, offer all those who enjoy video games and good vibes to come and hang out with us. Discounts galore, good food, great entertainment, and an atmosphere to die for. Bring your loved ones or just come alone and make new friendships that'll last an eternity. Here at Royal Crown, even you can be royalty." Now all he had to do was wait. In the meantime, he'd crush any of those foolish enough to challenge him to any game. |

[attr="class","kfbase"] [attr="class","kftop"] [attr="class","kficon"] [attr="class","kfboxbase"] SUPER ROOKIE [attr="class","kfbox"]It was that time. The school week had just finished only a mere hour or two ago and most of the students were fleeing from their respective buildings of academia to get their weekends started. Most of the teenagers chose to go the galleria. The luckier lot with significant others would more than likely chose Shiba Park or visit the Tokyo Tower. You know, something romantic and date worthy. But there, in the heart of Juban, was the crown royal arcade. And that was where Takeo planned to spend most, if not all, of his Friday. For you see, there was a certain mission there that he had yet to complete. And if anyone knew Takeo, they would no he was no quitter. When his mind was set on something, there was no deterring him from accomplishing said goal. And what exactly was so pressing of a matter at an arcade you ask?
Why, it was actually quite simple.
For you see, there were a plethora of machines that Takeo had taken a fancy too. Boulevard Brawler, Prince of Fighters XII, Mega Clash Bros; you name it, he played it. His preferred genre would seem to have been the fighting games right? Ah, but these were not the only games the blond took a fancy to. For there were a few idol-esque games in the arcade. One of which, everyone knew Takeo was one of the best at. The Famed DDR machine. Dance Dance Revolution. If he wasn't calculating frames per second and using juggles to score a perfect win, or singing in the karaoke section, Takeo was moving his feet to the beat in hopes of smashing a score of a certain rival...
FROM: RAIDEN 🎮 hey, i'm gonna' be in town today. you should come to royal crown and play with me. we have a lot of catching up to do, wouldn't you agree? if need be i can send someone to come pick you up, just let me know, takeo.
The Rival in question had sent a message, requesting the presence of the DDR prince. And of course, Takeo plucked his phone from his pocket and replied almost immediately.
TO: RAIDEN 🎮 you bet! prepare to have your crown knocked completely OFF.
"Today's the day." He spoke aloud as he walked through the doors of the arcade. Still clad in his Gohongi academy uniform. A pocket full of nickles and a grin of determination on his face as those present took notice to his entrance and welcomed him with hellos and waves. He was practically a regular. He could pick out the best competition and would challenge them to their game of choice. For pure fun of course. But the DDR machine? This was a war zone. On countless occasions, Takeo would play the hardest song, the most technical of dance steps and still come in second place to KoG. The moniker of Raiden Balaur. Owner of said arcade in question and the aforementioned rival in question.
"Don't worry, I'm gonna' win this time!" Takeo reassured the on lookers, after having taken a step onto the machine and placing in his quarters. The sounds of the machine playing songs from the music selection screen must have been a signal of sorts. Hands slipped into his pockets as he sauntered forward into the establishment, locking sights to the man of the hour. Or hours, the two played the game as if their lives depended on it. Time flew and hours upon hours were spent.
"I hope you know I'm snatching your crown this time," he started, the removing of his blazer, placing it over his shoulder and loosening of his tie signaling his battle ready armor. "You're going down! I won't lose in front of my fans~" A hand gesturing to the crowd of onlookers. They knew the battle was soon to begin. "An idol in training can't be seen down and out." Queue the Chip Skylark shiny teeth grin of confidence. "That crown's a bit heavy on ya' anyway, I'll take it from here~" He winked. -- Stand tall, never fall ! On the second floor of the arcade resided a eight player racing simulation game—The Fated & The Furious III: Those Who Are Fated—a competitive game for those with a interest in all things fast. People gathered to watch the 'pretend' drivers, each one of them in luxury vehicles—cars tricked out to perform at peak performance. This race took place in Tokyo, down a busy city that never truly slept—a very actuate representation of Shibuya. The King of Games participated in this game, his car of preference a black and white Audi r8. Each driver remained neck and neck as each one of them fought for the title of first place. Though, during the final stretch, Raiden pulled out a type of win he and the others were accustomed too. Seeing how this was still a video game, video game logic applied to keep the fun level at an all time high. That being said, NOS—the acceleration juice that makes fast cars go even faster, is a game mechanic Raiden abused when playing the game in particular. Drift enough, avoid enough hazards, and the smoother one drives all adds to the NOS level. Seeing how he had long since mastered the game, he already knew of every hazard placement, how to approach every turn with a drift, and all the patterns of the Artificial Intelligence in the game. So, when it came to the final lap, he was capable of going the entire lap with a boost of speed that lasted forever. Take into account all the points that add up for flawless playing and seeing how Raiden was indeed the very definition of a flawless player, there was simply no way he couldn't keep the boost going even with it depleting at a rapid pace. As the race finished with him a smooth thirty seconds ahead of the other players, he was notified by one of the many employees upon Takeo's arrival. He dismissed himself from the game with a grin to those around him. Upon doing so, he strolled over to the railing of the second level and peered over it—a grayish gaze upon the boy in a dramatic anime inspired moment. Arms crossed, he heard the little declaration from the boy from where he stood. The people seemed to love the enthusiasm the young idol gave, their claps and cheers being a clear telling of this. Raiden simply nodded, chuckling to himself with a big grin. Truthfully, he was very happy to see Takeo. Takeo was a good friend, a very good friend and someone Raiden found himself relying on in his own little subtle ways. Not wanting to keep his good friend waiting that much longer, Raiden descending to the first-level of the establishment and made his way over to the center most dancing machine—the one direct linked to the live advertisement billboard outside. " You are more than welcome to try and snatch my crown, my friend." Raiden voiced as he walked over to the first player pad of the machine with the biggest smile possible. As he did so, he pulled out a pure black card with a three pronged gold crown in the center of said colored card. He waved it in front of the screen subtle—a discrete chip reader he had placed within the machine for sessions such as these. Once he did that, it was almost as if the entire game powered down fully before springing back to life with different songs playing; much more intense and elite songs. The machine then spoke: " Hoho. Looks like you two are at it again, huh? You know the rules; you know the stakes; you know the deal. Dance til' you can't dance no more! Oh, and go easy on the kid, alright? LETS GET IT FELLAS!!!!" " But your head is looking a little too small for it, y'know? I think it'd be wise if it remained on my head until you grew into it, yeah?" He added with a wink of his own, leaning on the support railing in a casual manner. He would allow Takeo the honor of picking the first song. |

[attr="class","kfbase"] [attr="class","kftop"] [attr="class","kficon"] [attr="class","kfboxbase"] SUPER ROOKIE [attr="class","kfbox"]A friendly rivalry kept one on their toes. It reminded said person that if you were to slack off, even for a second, someone could come and take over your position. Leaving you only with the memories of how thrilling being at the top had once felt. Takeo was a firm believer in giving 125% at everything he participated in. There was no venture he signed himself up for that he wouldn't give everything he had into. Bearing good fruits and having his work speak for his character was important to him. He only slacked off in school work... occasionally. Which... well.. c'mon! It was school, no one liked taking science tests! Who cared about positive and negatively charged ions or whatever you called them. All he needed to know was gravity made things heavy and that H 2O was water. The simple things. Everything was extra in his opinion. The DLC of the world. And Takeo would happily save his coins for more, important matters. "My mission is still the same, snatch your name from every one of these arcade games. You should know me by now, Raido-kun, there's no way I'm giving up until I'm the king of games~" The determined grin and wink would be shot over to his Arcade owning comrade before he turned his attention back to the florescent flashing screen in front of him. "Naturally, it's only fit that the king perishes and passes off the crown to the next in line." He nodded, "I won't slip up this time. I've got the eye of the tiger and I'm in rare form!" A fist raised into the air, followed by the cheers of whatever small fan base he managed to garner behind the two. Alright, he was pumped and ready to go! Blue hues locked sight of the familiar black card with gold crown symbol placed onto it. Things were about to get serious. Unlike all of the patrons, Raiden had special means of unlocking hidden features in well, all of the games present. Takeo had only been an onlooker to a few of them. But here, at the DDR machine, he was lucky enough to take part in the shifting of the game's usual mechanics. Something he called "Tournament Mode". Which could very well have not been the name of the shift, but it fit, so he called it that. "Ah, no worries," he fanned off the thought. "I'll have it tailored to fit. That should fall under the Royal Crown royalty perks, right~?" A warm smile of competitive friendship would meet the other before the games began. With a few taps, Takeo finally selected the song he wished to begin with. [player]http://k003.kiwi6.com/hotlink/jdxiucbdt6/Dj_Hero_Soundtrack_-_CD_Quality_Around_The_World_vs_Bust_A_Move_-_Daft_Punk_vs_Young_MC.mp3[/player] It only took a moment for the infectious beat to begin and the arrows to ascend to the top. With a nod, he clinched his teeth and let a grin of sheer determination expose his confidence as he began to step in tune. Legs and feet moving from sheer memory and will to become victorious. With the song selected, it was apparent that the two weren't going to cut each other any slack in their choices. Which was perfect. Takeo wanted to earn his win. Not be given a hand out. Throw out whatever song you wanted, the blond would do everything in his power to keep up. Losing was not an option. The notes began to fly in at their usual rapid and almost blink-of-an-eye pace. Takeo and Raiden were something like professionals in regards to the game at hand. They played this game on levels in which only the cream of the crop dared to venture. Feet moving at break neck speeds to tap at the arrows as they flashed below. Hips swaying and hands moving in performing fashion. All the while, the prospect of getting one "good" or "great" being his demise loomed within his thoughts. But his face never showed it, rather, his visage remained sturdy and showed his wrought iron will and flame of passion.
